Regarding Dahlias

Hi Everyone,

I was so busy today setting up classes and clubs, whew, that is a real job...  But I did want to share this card that I made.
Regarding Dahlias - 130327, Clear Mount

  • Create a base for a 4-1/4" x 11"card using Whisper White, score at 5-1/5"
  • Cut a Midnight Muse layer measuring 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"
  • Cut a Midnight Muse layer measuring 4" x 3/-3/4"
  • Cut a Whisper White layer measuring 3/-3/4" x 3/-1/2"
  • Cut a Whisper White measuring 1-3/4" x 1-3/4"
  • Cut a 5-1/4" Midnight Muse Satin Stitched 3/8" Ribbon
  • Use Craft Basic Black to stamp the flower from the Regarding Dahlias stamp set onto 3/-3/4" x 3-1/2" Whisper White
  • Use Midnight Muse and blender pen, color in your dahlia, as desired
  • Use Midnight Muse to stamp the "HI" image on the 1-3/4" x 1-3/4"
  • Use Artisan Label Punch to punch out the "HI" image
  • Use Large Scallop Edgelit on Midnight Muse and use on 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" at the very bottom, center scallops evenly on each side
  • Use Large Scallop Edgelit on Whisper White 4-1/4" x 11" approximately 1/2" from bottom, center scallops evenly on each side
  • Use Delicate Designs Embossing on Whisper White, at the bottom where you used the edgelit
  • Mount the stamped Whisper White layer measuring 3/-3/4" x 3/-1/2" to the Midnight Muse layer measuring 4" x 3/-3/4"
  • Now mount your layered stamped image to your base Whisper White 4-1/4" x 11". Once assembled, adhere your Ribbon across the bottom of layered Midnight Muse & Whisper White
  • Adhere Midnight Muse with edgelit cut out to the inside back of the card
  • Use Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the punched out "HI" and adhere to the front of your card
  • Stamp your favorite sentiment inside, write out the card and drop it in the mail!

  • Sit back in your jammies, with a nice cup a tea, you can purchase all these items and more on my 24/7 website.  No going out to the stores, or wasting gas, and it ships right to your door. Easy Peasy.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and have fun putting your card together.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at or leave me a comment below.

    Stampin' Up!'s 25th Silver Anniversary

In case you haven't heard, this was Stampin' Up!'s 25th Silver Anniversary. Woot Woot!  Yes we're 25 years old and we celebrated in style!  We had prizes, tons of giveaways, awards, motivational messages, inspiring classes, lots of well-deserved recognitions, like Mary Polcin from WI - $1.5 million in sales... and of course stamping.

Stampin' Up! went all out for their 25th Anniversary. An awesome bag, a moving convention song, double the prize patrols, a walk down memory lane and more! Afterwards there was a huge social with 6000 of our closest friends - tons of demonstrations, display boards, service project, live band karaoke, (no I didn’t sing!), Guinness World Record, Ronald McDonald and MORE!   It was like Christmas in July.

    Here's a few pictures:
Opening Session started off with the Voice contestant, Ryan Innes
singing the Stampin’ Up 2013 Convention ‘Be the Difference’
theme song and a nice little firework show.
Shelli Gardner, Stampin’ Up Co-Founder, came out on stage followed by her entire family
    – daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren.
Stampin’ Up! announces they are an official global sponsor
of the Ronald McDonald House Charities
    What a Great Organization
As the night continued there was Prize Patrol (Woot Woot! I won too!), project demonstrations and more.  The most exciting event of the evening was we were trying to break a Guinness Book of World Records, record for the ‘most amount of cards sent from a single location!  I am Absolutely excited to say we did it and were able to collect and send 2,984 cards! That is 2,984 people attending convention sent at least 1 card, I and the others I was with were part of that number count! So exciting!  I sent my card to my Mother so she could be a part of this World Record too.
This is the gentleman that inspected and counted all the cards for the
    Guinness Book of World Records
One of the fun things about attending Stampin’ Up events is winning Prize Patrol and getting lots of FREE stuff! This year’s convention was no exception! They did 25 Prize Patrols in honor of the 25th Anniversary, 4 All-Attendee Prize Patrols, gave everyone a My Paper Pumpkin Kit, Washi Tape, Samples of the NEW "Undefined" - make your own stamp kit refill and an awesome backpack filled with some more goodies!
WOW! Totaling more than $215 worth of SU products and backpack with a
Idea Book & Catalog & the New Holiday Catalog.
Here’s a quick recap video of Convention. Watch this amazing video.

Oh and we cannot forget about our Roommate Gifts - Take a look at what I received from some very talented roommates - we were sharing 2 rooms.
I made the Notebook with everyone's name on it and
these Beautiful Women gave me the other items.
Vicki Ott - Robyn Scherzer - Kris Thomas - Terri Voss - Donna (Me)
I already have people asking me to do a workshop to make the purse, which was filled with delicious treats from Terri. Vicki gave me the beautiful Be the Difference Scrapbook, which I plan on filling with all these pictures, and Kris gave me the decorated box filled with a car freshener which is already in use and also the Dress Up which held some treats, Margie who is not shown, gave me the beautiful post it holder, which is also in good use. And Robyn gave me the Convention Survival Kit filled with wonderful items, chapstick, pen, paper, chocolate, and the most needed Kleenex, because when Shelli Gardner talks, she always makes you cry....So Inspirational!

Some of the many rows of display boards to gain ideas and projects for you the customer.

As we close the day on Saturday July 20th, I had to say goodbye to some of my friends and say until we meet again next year.  Tata for now....

I hope you enjoyed this trip down Stampin Up's 25th Silver Anniversary Convention 2013.  I had the Ultimate Time with a few very special friends and a few others too.  I am hoping that I can "Be the Difference" in your life to be creative and You Make the Difference in my life by letting me share what I LOVE to do...Maybe you will join me next year in Salt Lake City for the 26th Convention.

    Marker Techniques

    Marker Tips & Tricks Video
Watch this great video on our awesome 'Marvelous Markers'.

We want to show you a fabulous technique with a fun tool that is perfect for any stamper. It's a Stampin' Write Marker! It inexpensively expands your ink selection—allowing you to stamp images in any color (or colors) you choose!

    Here are a few tips:
    1. Breathing/Huffing. You always want to "huff" on your stamps after you color them to moisten the ink right before you stamp.
    2. Next—tapping. After coloring your image, just tap the image with another marker, and you get a cool two-toned effect!
    3. When markering your stamps, if you color outside the lines, you can always remove any unwanted ink easily with a Blender pen.
    4. And don't forget about spritzing. (You can do this when using an ink pad too.) After you are finished markering the image, just give it a spritz with water and it changes the way the stamped image looks. It gives it a softer, water-colored look.

Markering allows to you get every color on the stamp, perfectly, without any other steps.
Markering your stamps opens up a whole world of possibilities. Try it today!
Thanks for stopping by and hope that you share your markering skills with me, by sending a picture to my email, and I will post them on my blog.
